Our Heritage

Timeless luxury hospitality from the heart of the Rockies.

A Century Old Vision

Cascade Mountain Hotel began as a humble family venture, welcoming traveling miners drawn to Idaho’s silver and gold in the rugged days of the Northwest frontier. What started as a place of rest and refuge soon became a lasting tradition of hospitality, carried forward through generations and shaped into the refined mountain retreat it is today.

Today, that legacy lives on in every detail, from the warmth of our spaces to the care behind each guest experience. Discover the spirit of the Rockies and explore the elevated comforts, rich history, and unforgettable moments that define your stay.

The year 1971 brought two new wings and updated interiors, marking a significant evolution of the resort.

2023

The Centennial Era

The most recent 2023 expansion redefined the guest experience with the addition of an infinity pool, saunas, and thoughtfully curated wellness spaces.

Sustainability

Craftsmanship & Stewardship

As locals to the land, we strive to preserve the nature around us by minimizing our footprint and responsibly sourcing materials for restoration projects.

Western Red Cedar

Originally sourced from local forests in 1902, our wood tells stories of the past while preserving forests of the future.

Local Granite

Provided by the local miners, our granite amenities are fashioned from stones quarried from hillsides just 10 miles away.

Geothermal Heating

Thanks to Idaho's abundance of geothermal activity, we're able to heat our entire resort with earth-powered heat.
